Hi, my name is Markus Obernosterer, I am 31 years old and I am a photographer and videographer.

I studied Media Technology and Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg, Austria. Since then I was taking tenthousands of photos with my DSLR and mirrorless camera. I tried out many different techniques and to this day I am excited to go out and continue to improve my skills.

In my sparetime I often take my bike and ride around my area to explore new photography spots. I also like to plan weekend trips to connect several spots that are only reachable by car.

In 2020 I purchased a telescope, because I was always fascinated by the night sky. I tried to photograph the Andromeda galaxy and Orion nebula with a 300mm tele lens before and quickly figured out that there is no way around a stable and precise tracking mount, because deep sky objects are pretty faint and small. Getting a decent image of a galaxy or nebula involves careful planning, a precise setup of all the gear and also a bit luck regarding the weather. But there is no better feeling than realizing that all the effort and time spent often times in freezing cold temperatures was worth it.
